My name is Brad Ploof. I am an Alabama Licensed Professional Counselor and National Board Certified Counselor serving children, adolescents, and adults throughout North Alabama through both in person and telehealth services. I believe every person carries both light and darkness within, and life can bring seasons of anxiety, grief, trauma, addiction, or uncertainty that leave people feeling overwhelmed. My role as a counselor is to walk alongside clients as they face those difficult places, helping them rediscover hope, courage, and direction one step at a time. My therapeutic approach is direct, compassionate, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual or family. I integrate person centered care with play therapy, expressive and creative approaches, trauma informed cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and other evidence based interventions. The goal is to create a calm and supportive environment where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to build healthier patterns of thinking, feeling, and living. My clinical work often focuses on anxiety, addiction recovery, complex trauma, grief and loss, and major life transitions. I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (summa cum laude) from the University of West Alabama and continue focused, ongoing professional training to ensure the highest quality care.
